My wife and I just got back from 9 days in Germany, Didn't see 1 Crossfire, we went over to meet our beautiful 4 month old grandaughter and hang out with her super 5 yr old brother and my son and daughter-in-law. let me tell you, being a grandparent is the greatest thing since sliced bread and peanut butter

We saw a lot of beautiful scenery, the Bavarian Alps are fantastic, a lot of great old archetecture, old Doms and Castles are truly amazing especially when you consider how long ago they were built. We enjoyed some great wine from along the Rhine river and of course sampled some good old German beer.
Some of the bigger cities we saw were Frankfurt, Mainz, Cologne, and Munich. Saw some crazy traffic and the parking is pretty much non-existent. The parking decks are so tight I had visions of getting stuck in one of the turns half way up or down. I must admit the thought of the Autobahns always intrigued me, and yes the speeds on them were great but, they also just come to a complete stop for no apparent reason, and you sit for a while and then all at once everyone is going full speed ahead again. It was a wonderful trip and a great experience, but it is good to be home.
As you may have figured out, my son and daughter-in-law are both in the Army and being around all the men and women who proudly serve our great country I must tell you that it makes me extremely proud of them and grateful to all who serve to protect all the things we enjoy as a nation. I don't really think that a lot of people fully understand the sacrifices that military families go thru and I just want to say Thank You to all who serve and have served...
