No problem... I recently had my SRT engine disassembled, including the SC... And there is no bypass valve for the SC... Once that clutch engages, it's compressing the intake air... One thing I found interesting though, is that during "normal" operation without the SC engaged, the intake air just passes thru the SC and around the screws into the cylinder heads. This makes for a very constricted path. I would bet that if your SC was not engaging, a non-SRT Crossfire would beat you too...

Once my engine transplant is complete, I'm going to be installing a manual on/off switch, only because the engine management system (Motec) does not have the capability of triggering the clutch at a given RPM like the OEM ECU does. Let me rephrase that, The added option of having the MOTEC trigger the SC clutch is another $1,000 +/- and I don't want to spend the money on something that I can wire a switch for $10...

I don't know how the OEM ECU would react (throw a CEL, etc.) if you bypassed the system and installed a manual switch, but it's really easy to do.... Might be worth experimenting on....
