re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
Hi to all -
The Crossfire Forum is a great resource.
If anyone has an idea as to why the check engine light came on at 7,400 miles I would like to hear from you.
This is on an SRT 6.
The performance of the car changed today (1-12-08) in that it accelerates normally under a lot of throttle from a stop or lower speeds. And then it does not at 50 or so. When it does not, the acceleration is like the engine is using only about 2/3 of its potential and the high pitched sound (supercharger perhaps) is not evident.
The only thing I noticed before the change in performance today and the light coming on is that there was a hesitation after backing up slowly and then going forward at a relativlely slow speed. The hesitation was momentary. The car was fine on this drive. When it went out a second time today, I drove it two miles, stopped, and when I restarted it in about five minutes, the check engine light came on right away. It drove well in traffice but when acceleration was expected at 50 MPH on the open road, it was not there. The acceleration was smooth but a lot slower than it should be.
One other thing I noticed about two weeks ago was that at 3K RPM (in 1st or 2nd) there was a change in the sound of the engine. Sometimes it happend and sometines it did not.The SRT 6-trained tec at the dealer did not have much to say about it.
Any insights you have would be helpful.
I plan to call the dealership on Monday to take it in ASAP.
Thanks,,
Ben
