I have my Windrestrictor wired to a hot 12V line and have a switch mounted behind the driver's seat to turn the leds on/off. I have control over when the leds are illuminated and prefer it that way.

Top up or top down, it looks great. Nobody will mistake the fact that the car is a Crossfire (assuming that you have the Crossfire script etched into the Widrestrictor).
