I had this very problem with my 3.5 L Altima SE
It was taking quite a few cranks then shed fire right up.
I thought perhaps she wasnt gertting fuel
Turned out to be a fairly minor Variable timing sensor.
They explained that it had to crank and crank until it discovered top dead center by chance, and then it would fire
Now that its fixed, the car has lots of snort, and I dont hear the custom exhaust drone as much.

Have the dealer run the error codes. It will save you time and money chasing the problem.
