Maxwell, I'd have to agree with much of what your saying. I also found it interesting at how close your calculations for top speeds of an SRT and a Limited were to another couple of similar cars that set some records back in 1968.
I'm referring to the records set by a 290, and a 390 AMX (what else?) driven by the team of Mr. & Mrs. Craig Breedlove.
Even though these cars were modified slightly, their individual H.P. ratings would probably come close to that of a "stock" SRT & NA Crossfire. Even more coincidental is the fact that the AMX has the very same frontal area as the Crossfire. But as you pointed out, not as aerodynamic. But don't take my word for it, read all about it:
