Chrysler/Dodge is really trying to get into the performance world these days. Really trying to change their image.
Overboard? We can't make the SRT10 fast enough to keep them on the lots. SRT4 is a huge hit, yet another car that hasn't needed ANY incentives to move off the floor. We don't even get employee pricing on them.
"trying to get into the performance world" ?!? maybe if you were older you wouldn't be so dumb to the fact they have been leading the performance world for ages. Mopar mean anything to you? The hemi isn't a new motor either. It has some updated technology, but its not something they just made up over night.
The fact is people are willing to pay extra cost to have all the goodies added to the vehicle. Faster, harder, better looking. Why go aftermarket and void warranties, when you can get it from the dealer. No more down time, no more issues. I think its smart.
