If they are your good. If there not hook up red/yellow & yellow/red that should handle the power. You will need to hook up the amp "switch" wire from your new radio. It will be blue from the radio. Hook it up to the pink wire on the harness. Hook up the speaker level wires from your radio to the harness and you should be rocking. You do not need to run new wire to your speakers, You can and really must use the factory amp. A lot of so called stereo "installers" have no idea how these cars work. Hope this helps.
This is what Crutchfield says in an email regarding the blue wire on the VW harness: "
1) New speaker wire will have to be ran to both front and rear speakers then connected to the speaker wires on the radio. The tweeters in your vehicle will need to be combined with your front speaker wires.
2) The only receiver wiring harness adapter available is the 120701784 on your order. However the only wires that can be used are the Red switched 12 volt, Yellow Constant 12 volt, and the black ground wire. The functions of the yellow and red wires in the 1784 harness are reversed. The yellow wire supplies ignition power, and the Red wire supplies constant power. The speaker wires coming out of the radio will be connected to the new speaker wire that is ran to each speaker.
The radio has a blue wire for a remote turn on. This wire can be used to turn on your factory antenna booster by connecting it to your factory radio harness Blue/Green wire directly. However if the 1784 harness blue wire lines up with the Blue/Green wire all you have to do is connect the blue wire from the radio to the blue wire on the 1784 harness. end quote
So, do I still use the blue wire and connect it to the PINK? This running new speaker wires is crazy. Is this really going to be necessary? Geeze, this was supposed to be an "easy installation". Now Crutchfield is saying it's NOT...ugh. I am sick of this already.
Thanks for a further reply.
