In standard auto mode, do we have to hit the switch on the floor to get the car to shift into the next lower gear? It seems as though that's what needs to happen in my car. Again, this is in automatic mode. If I don't mash the pedal to the floor to actuate the switch, it stays in the gear I'm in and is sluggish (obviously because the revs are low).
