I immediately bail from work to go sign the paper work at the chrysler lease center and then the vehicle must be processed through a dealership. When I get there they tell me that the vehicle was turned in with a scratch on one of the rims and a slit in the tire. For this reason they would not certify it as a certified chrysler used vehicle. Which means I loose all the benefits that go along with that including the 8yr/80,000 drivetrain warranty. WHAT! For a scuffed tire. Even if I replaced the wheel and tire though the dealer before taking posession of it they would not certify it. I was told that because the car is an 05 for $150 I could transfer the remainder of the 3yr/36,000 to a 7yr/70,000 through the dealership but when I spoke to the dealership they made about 20 phone calls and then informed me that the warranty was not transferable because the vehicle is an SRT6. Any advice? Has anyone heard of a XF not being elegible for an extended warranty because it's an SRT6? This is really putting a damper on my excitement.
First off, ALL of that is a load of CRAP! No SRT vehicles come with the 7 Year 70,000 mile or lifetime powertrain warranty, but they ARE eligible for a Chrysler extended warranty. I have one! It doesn't cost anything for the 3 Year 36,000 miles warranty to transfer because it doesn't transfer to owners. It stays with the car, not the owner. The car can have 99 owners and if it's below 36,000 miles and 3 years from its in service date then it still applies regardless. As far as the wheel and tires go, that's crap too. 2 of my wheels where scraped to hell when I got it, but had no effect on the Certification... Find another dealer, find another car. You can find another one with that low miles from a dealer that isn't full of crap.
