I went debadge-crazy a few months ago and now have that left over indentation in the trunk lid.
I've been quoted $800 to fill with bondo and re-paint. Let me know if you're going to do the same thing and/or found a cheaper route or body shop.

I do.
I plan to skin (sheet metal) the entire trunk lid and then re-paint and clearcoat. I think Bondo will just bust out or crack in time. Treat it like a rust restoration on a 55 chevy fender.
I'll do the skin ($60) and purchase the paint ($50), I already have a pint of clearcoat and then have a friend squirt the color. I'll have him hit the door handles and windshield surrounds at the same time.
