I clicked over to the German version, filled in the blanks by hopping between the English and German version, and clicked"Abscend". Lo and behold I got back what I think was a confirmation in German. Crossing my fingers that whoever reads the message is an English speaker (and reader!).
I've been having the same problems with my message not going through so I tried it on the German site also and it went right through. Thanks for the idea.
