What exactly do you need help with? Basically if you buy it from Crutchfield, they will give you the Scosche VW harness and you just match the colors on the wires and connect them, it's that simple!
I do not believe that Crutchfield is trying to trick you into buying speaker wire / rewiring your system, I just think that they made a mistake and do not know any better. I do not believe Crutchfield to be that kind of company. I think they are honest, reliable, and have fantastic deals.
