Like he said, You don't need any wrenches to remove the filter.
If your cover is too tight use a strap wrench or use a rag to cover the top and grip the top with a pair of pliers and turn it to loosen the top. Not sure where you are seeing that you need any kind of socket wrench?
Once the filter assembly is removed from the housing you can pull it off/slide it down the shaft, with your hands. Search the oil change threads, there is one with great pics.
