That sounds like a good idea, but won't this also have another affect: raising the temperature of your engine block? I'm no race mechanic, but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me. So I'm curious, can someone explain?

Since the previous post is correct, the heat dissapation from insulated contact with the SC intake plenum will not increase engine temps. I find it really hard to believe EvoSport's original claim of 100 degree drop in intake temps by installing the spacers alone...
Most of the heat soak is being generated inside the IC that is trapped between the SC and engine block... So while you are installing the spacers, insulate the bottom and sides of the IC with ThermoTec insulation.
