Re: turbo crossfire
You want some advice? Don't get your hopes up. 340 on this drivetrain is asking to spend A LOT more money upgrading. Why do you think the SRT6 wasn't offered with our 6 speed manual? Think more conservatively... 300.
And the chances of anybody "tuning" (I cringe every time I hear you guys use this word) a naturally aspirated DaimlerChrysler engine controller to support boost is almost laughable. Chrysler has worked in proprietary algorythm based software for decades. Just now a few very innovative people are breaking engine controller code for early 90's turbo Dodges. The SRT-4's NGC controllers have 100x the code of those old systems... now try to imagine what Mercedes brought to the table.
This isn't a Honda. There are no tuning tools. And Bubba's speedshop doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell at identifying MAF, Timing, or Fuel tables let alone "tuning" them.
Total standalone or a Piggyback setup are your only hopes for forced induction. And nobody makes a piggyback that meshes gracefully with the systems in your Mercedes. You'll need to work to trick the car's ECU into doing what you need most of the time.
In short. Forced Induction on these cars is very tricky. With enough money you can make it easier, but usually not worth the difference. You need a very innovative thinker to make a "cheap" forced induction solution. So stick around and see what happens.
