For me, I drive a bit too fast and the radar detector has saved my A$$ on more than one occasion (worth its weight in gold in my mind!) Once you add higer insurance rates to the cost of the ticket, the price of a good radar detector is recouped rather quickly...in some states from just one save.

I don't want to get into a radar detector war on this tread, so I will say you will be covered if you focus on an Escort or Valentine 1 and shop features/reviews/cost from there. That is what I did years ago and have been happy since. PM me if you have other questions.

The cheapest alternative is to Not speed of course...
