Hi - I just joined this site - way too much information for me to soak up on my lunchbreak, though.

I used to have a 1970 Datsun 240Z that I had almost completed restoring before we had to sell it (needed funds, no other collateral, not exactly a rare thing). Loved the little car, the hatch, the LOOK. Didn't love the fact that Datsun/Nissan never wised up and started making replacement parts (like Chevy does), and that my little car was becoming a frankenstein since I needed to put in parts from other 'dead' cars. I've been looking for a nice two-seater to replace the 240Z, and fell in love with the Crossfire. Problem is, I don't know much about the car other than it is a cross between a Mercedes and Chrysler, and at least in my own eyes, it 'sort of' has the same profile of my long-gone Z.

I saw my first Crossfire here along the border a few months. Despite the fact that there are literally miles of new car dealerships along the border, I have only seen about 3 Crossfires, and from the plate frames, seems they come from 'north' like Austin and San Antonio.

Within the next few months I hope to be able to get a Crossfire, and I would love any pointers, things to look for and not look for, prices, extras, etc. I would love to get a manual transmission, decent mileage (too high doesn't matter if the car has been maintained), prefer a coupe, and also want to know what the difference is between an SRT6 and 'the regular'. I don't really need all the extra bells and whistles, the super stereo, nav system, DVD, etc. I just want a car that I can have fun driving in that will be MINE versus my hubby and my 'OurCars'.

Any advice and/or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Is the SRT6 sort of like a turbo version? (Don't get offended...I did say I don't know much about this car at this time.
