I was hoping one end would be colored differently from the other so I could ask those of you that recently installed one, which end connects to the pedal assembly. But lacking that, and having read how it can be difficult to disconnect (by squeezing) the existing plug from the pedal assembly, it seems that the end of the SB that has the squeezable plug must go onto the pedal assembly. Am I missing something here about this hookup? The SB is just inserted in-line between the pedal assembly and the existing plug/connector is it not?
Dickbee, you are missing what happened to me. there is a male and female end of the SB. it's not a problem of which end of the cable plugs into what, but the plug itself can plug in 2 ways. when you look at it, it appears there is a flat edge and a curved edge and it should go only one way but infact the plastic must move enough that you can plug the curved end into the flat side - which must have been what i did. in all my life i have never seen a plug that would do this but i guess i was due. when i tried again, i carefully looked at how the old plug came apart (much easier to do when you remove the pedal) and plugged the sb in the same way. bingo.

it's not that difficult. of all the folks here that bought a sb, it looks like it was just me a maybe a couple others that had this issue.
