SLK320 donut & ESP acceptance
I've tried to research using the SLK320 R170 donut spare on the xfire & after reviewing all threads about this I have one final ques. as to weather our cars, which use two diff. size tires, will accept this donut & still let the size diff. get us on down the road without the ESP wanting to apply it's breaking feature to hold us back sensing unequal wheel spin somewhere on one of the wheels?
Should clicking off the ESP feature permit use of one diff. size wheel when the spare is on to let us get on with our trip til we can get repair or new tire further on.
Has anyone who has one of these donuts ever tried driving their car, after they made sure it was a good fit on front & back, to see if the ESP took over as I mentioned, but could be overcome by turning it off for the test run?
Thks for your reply. I do plan to make some trips with my xfire & would feel better with a spare in the back. I have no prob. storing the flat tire since most of my travels would be with the pass. seat avail. for temp. storage.
