I've had excellent results with the Eibach Pro Kit and Koni dampers. I highly recommend them.
Don't cut your stock springs. GEEEZE... The Eibach Pro Kit cost's under $300 and the improvement of the progressive spring design is well worth it.
You may also consider a rear camber kit if you lower your ride.
