Just my 2 cents but it's really tough to justify any ECU re-map costing more than $1k. If the tuner really has experience with the car, even a custom tune is nothing more than 15 minutes on the dyno followed by another 40 minutes ridding shotgun while working the laptop. If the tuner doesn't have the experience with the car and its ECO paramters, it's all a trial and error exercise and you're basically paying to school him in what works and what doesn't work. By comparison, $800-900 on my Evo gets a piggy-back ECU set-up that enables you to switch between a few different maps (e.g., one for factory tune, one for 19 lbs boost on 91 octane, one for 21 lbs boost on 93/94 octane).

You have to be stupid rich....................or just stupid to pay $1600+ to just get the ECU reflashed for these cars. If you really want to have your mind blown away just look at how much Renntech is charging suckers to reprogram the ECU on the 65 series AMG cars(or any car they flash for that matter).
