First off - that's classic!

There are several other non-bowtie cars that wear their stripes well. Most of them are chasing after Shelby's look though (Viper, Daytona, actual Shelby, etc..).

I too like stripes - I just don't like the way these were done.

I also think a really wide singe strip may look better...something in flat finish that is about the width of the grill opening. Paint the grill flat to match it. Hood only maybe?

Tough call - to each their own, and props to the guy for having the guts to modify it.
