There have been several discussions on this forum concerning oil change intervals. As with anything else, folks are free to change the oil at whatever interval they feel comfortable with but your above statement is incorrect.
No where in the owners manual does it state at what "specific" mileage interval when service is due. The
FSS defaults to 7,000 miles when it is reset. The system goes on to determine when service is due based on information from a sensor that evaluates the condition of the oil in your car. Service can be due before or after 7,000 miles. Chrysler can not void your warranty for following the schedule as established by the FSS.
