Yep, that's the thread I started after getting a copy of the East Region CD from a fellow forum member and uploading that and the West Region that I got with my car. The discs are not encrypted - I had no problem burning a straight copy or creating an ISO image that could be uploaded and subsequently downloaded and burned back to disc. Several people have done it successfully so I know it works.
