I drove 3 new SRT-6's (ie; less than 400 miles on the odo) within the last month from LA to SF to finally settle on the best one, which I purchased yesterday (graphite). They were all blindingly fast, quiet unless the throttle was 3/4's engaged...after which it emits an ominous growl, and pulled all the way into felony ticket territory. The last time I was in a car like that was high school in a friend's vintage '65 GTO with tri-power. The GTO had none of the manners that the SRT-6 has.

I also have a Scion tc which is a quick little car (sans available supercharger, which would make the FWD a little nervous). The xB is an Aveo compared to the tc.

Did you open the hood on the SRT-6 you drove? It looks much different than the other Crossfire models. The car you are describing sounds rather like a Limited with a plugged up air filter on a bad day.
