Do you ever head up to Yakima and cross the Columbia River in Vantage? The Northwest is a diverse area geographically, there are great drives everywhere you look. I live in Wenatchee (middle of WA state). One of my favorite drives is to head east towards the small town of Quincy, then head south and hit I-90. That part has long straight aways and not many cops or traffic if you take the roads between the farm lands. I then follow I-90 west and cross the Columbia River at Vantage. There are some great views of the gorges the Columbia River created. From vantage I head west over some sloping hills that have long sweeping turns and high speeds. After that you stay on I-90 till just after Ellensburg and head north on 97. From there its all winding roads through forests till you get to SR 2 and head east back to Wenatchee. About a 2-3 hour trip with a little bit of everything.
