It will shift for you. Just put it in 1st, mash the gas and hold on! Actually, if you put it in first and are hard on the gas - and TRY to shift to 2nd, it wont do it. It will hold 1st until the car is near redline and at the car's optimal point to hit 2nd gear (same with 3rd and 4th).

Wow, I didn't know that either. I was always scared to test it out thinking it would hold the gear and break something. I kind of suspected since it really wouldnt shift until redline on hard launches even tho I tapped the stick to upshift. Good to know for when I go to the track.
