So I'm on my way home from Auburn heading north on I-65. I'm VERY ready to get home. A state trooper of course came out of nowhere and pulled me over in Birmingham.
Now I'm always polite to law officials so this episode was no different. He asked for my license and all the normal jazz... told me I was going 102 in a 70. He said I could go to jail for that amount over the limit so my stomach hit the ground thinking about this hefty fine I'm gonna have to pay. He then asked what the car was.. and how many horses it had. I answered. He then asked me "Alright now boy tell da truth, how fast you got dis thing up to?" You all know when the governor kicks in... "145, sir."
He kinda laughed... I think this state trooper was having an exceptional day... he let me off with a verbal warning much to my amazement. I was so happy I rolled home with the windows down and the cruise set to 68...
Nothing extra-ordinary about my story but still wondering why he let me go. Good attitude with nice car? I guess I'll never know.
Everyone else share your close encounter.... I know you've had them. Practically unavoidable with what we drive.
