Our ODR SCCA runs Evolution classes a couple of times a year. I haven't done it yet. I've just been relying on my old midget and sprint car skills and so far it seems to be paying off very well. I have several friends that have attended Evolution and they have all said it's very worth while. They teach you a ton about braking, how to recognize when slower is faster and how to be smooth.

The thing that I think is the most critical part of being successful in autocross is knowing the course. If you have to keep asking yourself "is that the next gate" you're going to be in trouble. You need to walk the course over and over agian and again until you know it like the back of your hand. Then you can use your driving skills to get you around the course as fast as possible.
