1. You have to turn the key all the way off to turn it on again - it is to prevent you from trying to start it when the car is already on
2. In total I have had 4 out of 6 people stall my car that I have let drive it so don't feel bad. Some of them even drive a manual. The funnest one is when I tried to teach a friends wife how to drive a standard how to drive a manual with my car. We restarted at least 20 times and there where only 4 stop signs on the route we took.
