my 05 suffered from the rattle... adjusting the rubber bumpers would work for a week or so, putting some felt under them attached to the painted surface also would work, for awhile... the permanent fix was to wrap the round striker bar attached to the body with three wraps of black electrical tape. Hmmm, that sounds like that could do the trick! I'd rather try that than have the butchers at the dealership mess with the car to change out the latch. They'd probably end up scratching something.
