I ran 16 passes last night at Ennis, TX(1/4 mile).....not a single 12

Best was a 13.082 @ 107 with a 1.999 60ft.
I was so sure id run a 12.999. The weather was fair 65-75 or so. Id say a little humid. I just couldnt get my 60 fts down below a 1.999. Now it didnt help that i ran back to back passes with only brief 15-20 min cool downs, but i was concentrating more on getting low 60fts, which never really happened.
A couple questions for you guys that have drag raced your srt6 on street tires.
1. Do you burnout.
2. Traction control on or off.
3. What rpm do you launch at.
4. Do you start out in drive or in 1st gear.
I have to get my 60 fts down.
1. NO burnouts are ever necessary on street tires
2. Always have traction control OFF
3. I launched at 1400rpms, rolled into throttle and still spun the tires a little(2.0 60')
4. Always start in 1st gear(manual mode; let car do all shifting)
Your 60's aren't bad at all for street tires. The big problem which is killing your times is heat soak. The car will run .3-.5 seconds faster if you pop the hood and let it cool off for 30-45 minutes between passes. I bring a bag of ice and a small towel and lay it on the S/C after every pass and will not run again until the the temp gauge is is around 1/3 mark. I do the same thing with my Charger as well and consistantly run .4-.5 seconds faster than running at full operating temperature.
Also as far as air pressure goes you should air up the fronts to about 45psi and air down the rears to around 30psi(no less than 27psi) on street tires.
