I was competing in the street car class at Import Face Off. Got there bolted up my 17x9 VOXX with Bias ply ET Streets 17x11.5. Go to roll to staging lanes, click, click click. The lug bolts DTD sent me were too long. They were shorter than stock but just slightly too long and rubbing something in the brake assembly, nobody had spacers. Ok, so now I have to run on 300TW all seasons against people with slicks and drag radials, I'm screwed.
First pass, no way around water box, damn!, do a slight burn out, clean the tires one last time before the line. Taraction control off, cutout switch in hand ready to be opened once I get off the line. Launch at 1k, car begins fish tailing to about the 330 mark where I almost hit the wall. I let out and dropped the cutout switch, regained traction and pulled a 15.7 at 104.

It was kinda scary. The track prep was horrible! The temps were in the mid 70's and the temp gauge on my car was reading 95.

I spent most of the day in the pits waiting because several cars blew up and sprayed oil down the track. After that first pass I decided to just leave the TC on. It kept me from going into the wall, but it killed my times, going off like crazy. I managed to run two 13.5@107, launching at idle with the cutouts closed and opening after I left, spinning, TC kicking in like crazy. Slips look like this

I might go back in a couple weeks with some spacers, mid 12's should be feasable with traction and hopefully cooler temps.
