Default 2006 Limited Coupe: Buying a Leftover from the Dealer

Big Crossfire fan, long time visitor to the site--first time post...

Last spring I was shopping for a 2006 leftover Limited Coupe & found several at a dealer in a nearby state selling for $10,000 under the $35,000 sticker. Looked like a dealer holdback to me. After hammering out the parameters of a deal over the phone (around $23,000) and leaving it to sit overnight, the dealer called back to say they had sold the car in question. There were others available at the dealership but not with the desired mix of features--wrong color or with a GPS or not a manuel or something that didn't fit my wish list. So, I went to a neighborhood dealer to check out their only '06 Limited and it was priced around $33,000 (not the desired color either) plus, they would not move from that figure. The salesman scoffed at my holdback suggestion and said the dealer in the nearby state probably got the cars at auction or that they had been re-titled (implying such cars in either case were far less desirable). So I didn't buy anything & decided to wait & see what developed in the market.

Now--fast forward to last fall. The same local dealer has the same Limited PLUS another Limited--this one in a desired color--and the prices were $10,000 off sticker (a "hot-deal"on the dealer website). With Christmas & snowy weather coming I decided to wait it out and over the winter weeks the prices kept dropping a few hundred at a time until by February, these cars were offered on the dealer website at just over $20,000. At that point, I was ready to act but before I could, the dealer website removed the "hot-deal" offer and the prices were back at sticker.

Now--here are my questions:
First (a multi-part question), as the auto industry moves into the 2009 model year, what should I expect to pay for a leftover 2006 Limited Coupe (a car that is three years old in car-years and has been discontinued) and is Chrysler doing anything special regarding financing on these cars (like zero % interest for 36 months)? In addition, how do holdbacks from Chrysler work for their dealers on leftover Crossfires? Also, what kind of lifetime warranty--powertrain/bumper-to-bumper--should I get from Chrysler on a 2006?
Second, if the advertised price of a car has been lowered and then raised by the dealer, can the consumer expect to still be able to get the car at the lowest dealer-advertised price--no matter when that price was advertised?
Third--in regard to the two Crossfires at my local dealer--the first (the one that has been in inventory now for about a year) has a local port of entry listed while the other (the more recent arrival--still at least six months in inventory) has a port of entry that is 1,000 miles away. What does this mean? A dealer-trade perhaps--and if so, how would that effect the price?
