First of all... When I turn the key to the On/Run position, I hear and slight but noticable groan coming from the dashboard? Is this normal?

Also, when I turn the climate control fan on low, I hear like a churning sound from the fan. This may just be how it sounds, but neither of our other cars make this sound.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated before I look like an idiot trying to recreate the sounds for the perfection-lacking technicians.

Thanks!
I know how you feel. I too am a bit of a "perfectionist" to better state it.

These cars do make all sorts of noises. Not sure about the groan. There are some noises when the key is turned on. Some electrical and something that sounds like the hum of a pump. As for the fan, I had a fluttering, sound that turned out to be a leaf stuck inside the fan housing. It some how made its way from the cowl vents to the fan itself. Took the tech about 30 minutes to get to it and remove it. Aparently it happens more often than you would think.

The hatch rattle can be fixed by you in about 10 minutes. No need to chance your car being messed up by the techs. This will solve all of your problems with the rattle!!! Thanks to another member on this forum, here is the fix: Wrap about 4 turns of black electrical tape around the latch bar. When the hatch is open, this is the part attached to the car (not the hatch) that the latch "grabs". The tape will not wear and provides insulation for the rattle. The TSB for this is to replace the latch assembly with rubber insulated one. The tape does the same thing. I battled this for months until I did this fix. I have absolutely NO rattles now. The hatch could be and probably is vibrating all over the place, but I can't hear it at all thanks to the tape. Wind noise: I'm working on a fix for that too. I have a full warranty, but I will only let the techs work on my car if absolutely necessary. I've had way too many bad experiences with them in the past from scratched paint to a ruined interior that they had to repair at their expense after some serious bit**ing from me.
