Hey ....I know what you are talking about , I also have heard that from my car, like they say above it seems to be particular to the possision of the gas as well as the speed in wich you dis engage the clutch, I notice it as soon as I drove it from the dealer, but like you mentioned the tech guy said he does not hear anything, .........i just try not to shift too hard so i can avoid hearing that "pop" ............I know our shifts are a little notchy but some times that sound makes me think somthing is not right .....look into it and let us know about it ! good luck!
