Sea,

I did search and read the very same link
thus the reason for my question...

Everything have seen suggests that the ECU has to be pulled and the Eeprom removed...

The other two cars I have can be programmed through the ODBII connector, this i think is tremendously easier than soldering and desoldering chips...

aside from the programming "modification" I have the wherewithall to do the same thing myself I have the prom burners and such

So based on your answer, there is no alternatives aside from soldering and desoldering the chip...
