I did the same: in fact, I still have my Alabaster '04 Coupe in the garage waiting for a buyer. With the prices for the SRT this low now is the time.
You are correct though, the ride is much stiffer & ****-poor roads can be a bear to drive over especially at this time of the year when the frost is leaving the ground & the roads are like washboards. I feel it's a small price to pay for the performance, to heck with the ride. If you want a smooth ride there's always the Cadillac!
