Re: Transmission Fluid Question
Hello everyone! New to the forum, wanted to give my input what I have noticed. I agree with changing the fluid in the tranny but to be honest, my last car (my baby :/ 98 328is I loved her but she got destroyed by an idiot driver decided to turn in front of me and it was pancaked) that car in the manual said the tranny never needed to be messed with until every 100k miles and at that point the oil would be replaced and the filter inside would be replaced.
On this car which I bought right after my accident (last November 2007) it had 13k miles on it when I bought it and shortly after I noticed the shifting problem and the service guy told me that the seal from the factory was actually designed to small and he replaced it with the new design. Unfortunately it did not help the shifting 'stickiness'.
I am sure that didn't help you with your issue, but mainly in regards to what was being said about having to change it every once in awhile, my BMW was running FLAWLESSly at 125k miles and I had the tranny work done at 95k miles and it was still working like the day it came from the factory.
As a side question, fireamx ! Where did you get that hood ? It looks badass, like a little snout or something :P
