Have a new SRT-6 Coupe in my garage...
Ok, after a whirlwind day, for some reason I have an SRT-6 in my garage right now!!!
Went to a dealer today to look for a new Sebring Convertible for my wife, and on the forecourt was a nice shiny Crossfire SRT-6.
We got there late in the day, took the SRT-6 for a test drive and holy cow that is quick! Being as it was late in the day and they wanted to go home, they have allowed me to bring it home for the weekend to check out.
So here are the questions...
1) It's a 2005 that was first sold in May 2007. It has 3,250 miles on it and they want $24,995 for it - is that a good deal?
2) The same dealer sold it originally and told me when it was in the detail shop it got a nick on the fender and had a repaint with 0 miles on the odo. It looks fine from what I can see, the paint has a blue/purple hue to it and it looks like the metal flakes might not be all in the same direction making the paint look a slightly different color. Is this something to worry about?
3) Carfax shows no wrecks or anything sinister in it's 3,250 miles. This is a good thing.
4) Are there any known problems to look for with these cars? From what I have read they are pretty bullet proof.
5) I have been told that even tho it is an 05 model year SRT-6, because it wasn't sold until May 2007, the warranty remains from May 2007 onwards and not from it's 2005 build date. Is this true? - what can I expect to have warranty wise?
6) The only things I can see wrong with the car are it doesn't come with wipe clean seats (man it's fast!). Seriously tho, the only things wrong I can see are the paint on the fender (which only anally retentive me would notice) and the power mirror adjustment switch has snapped off (which they have told me they'll replace under warranty). That's it.
7) With only 3,250 miles - what can have gone wrong... (I know that's a very open ended question!!)
Thanks for taking the time to read this... I haven't signed for the car yet, so I can hand it back, but I have 2 days to test it and check it all over with a fine toothcomb.
