I was thinking the same as that thin piece of metal couldn't have been supporting the weight of the car. I was thinking that there might be a part that fell off.
Your first post you said that side dropped about 3/4" did that happen after they put the tires on? If so It sound like they bent something. Most shops I've been to are notorious for lifting the car by the suspension parts which is not a good thing for your car.
