The other way of doing a reasonable sized screen, without the 1 din dash size problem, would be to mount a touch screen (for GPS, song & station selection, etc.) on a goosneck stalk, or similar, but integrated with the in-dash system. That might be a more workable solution than an in-dash 1 din.
