Default Re: Newport Ri Cruise

If you had to choose between the ECU Tune or the Sprint Booster, which would it be?

Don't they both cost about the same?

Which one is actually a true benefit in performance and mpg's?

I would say those considering doing just one at the Newport Cruise would be better off with the "tune". It increases your performance and may possibly increase your gas mileage. Isn't that a win-win? I've never heard of anything bad said about having this done. Have you?

The SB is a quick fix for that ever so slight throttle lag when stepping on the accelerator. Some people say their XFire shifts smoother and is easier to drive with the SB in place. Apparently, it makes the car quicker but not any faster, if that makes sense. Some operators say it can be somewhat of a pain with the 6-speed in stop and go traffic. We've all seen XFire owners that have removed their SB's and sold them. It kind of makes me wonder why it didn't work for them.

I'm leaning towards the "tune" at the cruise. We've already heard from TVT stating they are coming no matter what. They even have offered to allow us to try the SB's, and if you don't like it, they will remove it. I would say that is an offer most people can't refuse. It's not often you can get a "try it, like it, buy it" opportunity when it comes to electronics in this "you opened the box so you own it" world.

Like many of you, I don't have anyone in my area that performs the ECU Tune, that I know of. Why not take advantage of having the vendor come to us while you can. Don't get in a position that the day after the cruise you would be saying "I wish I would have". If you're thinking about it, just do it! The same applies to the SB offer.

I guess you may realize that I will probably do the tune and I'm considering the SB also. I could probably be tempted by a package deal at the right price.

By the way, I've mentioned TVT because they have been more active in their postings and offerings re the Newport Cruise. I do not know anyone there or have ever contacted them about any services so far. I do not know anything about InMotion and I haven't had any contact with them. Does TVT and InMotion perform the exact same services with the exact same parts? Without insulting anyone, is there any reason to choose one over the other? I'm sure there are a few of you thinking along the same lines I am.
