It just pops off. A flat blade screwdriver will do the trick, just be gentle. If that doesn't work or you don't want to take the risk of possibly scratching it scrounge around the house for some stiff plastic & use that instead. It does have a "top" & a " bottom" & will need to be re-installed in the same way it comes off.
Oops, forgot to mention, pry behind the chrome piece.
Cursing is always an added bonus to any car work!
