it is safer when running the car on the track. When you are running it hard, the temps are hotter and the chance for detonation is higher it is better to run a little higher octane fuel to prevent the car from detonating and pulling timing. If the car does not pull timing then that equals more
consistent times at the track. If you raise boost it is better/much safer to run a higher octane at the track also. The
Klotz also raises the oxygen level in the fuel as well which CAN mean as much as 8% more hp. Yes it is better to run a higher octane for a forced induction or high compression motor at the track.
