Actually, there is no problems with kids in carseats riding in the front seat, with or without a back seat and they do allow carseats in the front seat.. The crossfire's passenger seat has latch and tether anchors designed to strap in carseats with the latch system. The front passenger seat also has an occupant cllasification system that measures the weight on the front passenger seat as well as the position/location of the passenger and can automatically disable the passenger airbags if the occupant is under a certain weight or is sitting in a certain position. The only time you should not use a carseat in the front seat is if the car seat is a rear facing car seat and the car is not equipped with a method to disable the passenger airbag. Otherwise, there's no problems with with car seats in the front. The front seatbelt of the Crossfire also has a rachet mechanism to secure the carseat in place if the carseat does not have latch or if the child is in a booster seat without latch. These carseat features are available on almost all the front seats of every new car, minivans included ... I have taken both my son and daughter for rides in the crossfire in their booster seats and they have a blast..
In addition, other cars such as the Porsche Boxster also have as an available option a specific car seat option that automatically disables the passenger airbag once installed.
