Sounds to me like your starting out on a negative note about black. Just remember there's nothing worse than buyers remorse. If your "not a fan of black" and your other black vehicle "was a pain" you won't like the black Crossfire either. Pass and wait for another color.
As far as the paint job on my Crossfire, I've never seen a better one. Personally I love to keep up the shine on my car. Because of the high maintainence of my black Crossfire I made sure my new Outlook was silver. Much easier to maintain. I didn't want two black cars.
