Default Re: Insurance cancellation question

First of all age plays into insurance rates a great deal. Our age tables start at 16 to 21. 21 to 25, 25 to 29 then 29 to 50 or so and then there are still more brackets after that. ZAHANMA again there is far more than age that goes into an insurance premium but yes it is a factor. When I hear someone say "my friend gets this rate" I always tell them then by all means call their friend's company and see if they can get the same rate. Nine times out of ten I get a call back saying well my friend's married or has his house with them too, I don't have either of those things.
Mike I'm glad you are able to maneuver their (GEICO's) web site. A lot of people can't. Most people don't know the what their Liability coverage means. Don't get me wrong GEICO is a great company my warning is mainly if you call them or any other insurance company for a quote or try to use a company website. This is what I am seeing first hand from my customers. If you don't understand basic auto insurance that is Liability limits, under/uninsured limits, med pay. personal injury protection (PIP) stacking/non stacking, tort/no tort, comprehensive, collision then be very careful using web sites for insurance quotes.
Remember there are other things to consider, not just a cheap rate....is the company reputable? Can they pay their claims, is there someone you can talk to, overall communication...do they call you back? respond to your inquiries, review your policy with you?
Last but not least you are the consumer, shop your insurance. Don't just stay with the same company because it was your parent's choice, your friends company whatever.
