Just be safe bro. I don't know if this is your 1st time but it will go quick. Just stay busy and read on your down time. I did my 13 months. My unit became my family. It was a love/hate relationship like a normal family. LOL!

This means a lot to me so I will pass it on to you, A fellow Soldier. I don't know if you've read it, but it hits home.


A Soldier's Story....

I was that which others didn't want to be,
I went where others feared to go and did what others feared to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness..Should I fail.
I Have seen the face of Terror:
Felt the stinging cold of Fear:
And enjoyed the sweet taste of Love.
I have Cried, Pained and Hoped...
But most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
At least I am proud to say that I Am Proud of what I was..... A SOLDIER!

I read this on a wall when I first got to Camp Spearhead before heading up North. Who ever wrote this new what the Soldier feels. It really hit home with me and all my fellow troops. Just be safe Bro. From a fellow Soldier;
